Feminine Wisdom & The Search For Purpose

In this episode of "The Year of Being 70," Lucy and Lisette discuss the power of sharing personal stories, the feminine approach to business and purpose, and the challenges of breaking through patriarchal structures - all while Lisette travels through Italy and prepares to attend a high-level conference at the Vatican.

Key Insights

• Sharing personal stories can inspire others and make our purpose more visible, rather than hiding behind professionalism.

• Women’s lives play out in cycles – biologically, emotionally and relationally, compared to the more linear "ladder" view of men’s lives.

• Bringing the feminine voice and perspective to male-dominated spaces like business and religion is crucial for creating more holistic, purpose-driven change.

• Embracing humility and stillness can be powerful antidotes to the ego-driven "saviour" mentality that can creep into purpose-driven work.

• Age and experience can provide the confidence to be more vocal and unapologetic about one's values and beliefs.

Why You Should Listen

This conversation offers rich insights into the unique challenges and opportunities women face as they navigate purpose, spirituality, and power structures in the second half of life.

Lisette and Lucy's candid exchange provides a refreshing counterpoint to the typical narrative around ageing, inviting listeners to embrace the wisdom and confidence that comes with time.

Join The Conversation

Do you share personal stories from your life experience, to encourage or inspire others? Or do you feel that you need to protect your personal experiences in your professional space? Do you agree, as a woman or a man, that women's lives tend to be more cyclical and men's more linear? Are you on a mission in this phase of your life? Does it power what you do and how you show up?

If you feel like sharing, tell us your personal experience in the comments.
